    No problem, I …
No problem, I wonder if they fell out because of ego with the “ownership” of the concept of hypothalimitis and applying it to cfs/me?

Dr Mickel says he taught him the idea of the hypothalamus going into overdrive. However, Dr Eaton claims it was nearly all based on the original manual he wrote at a seminar in 2002 that Dr Mickel had also attended

    Someone being dishonest?

It all seems to be about getting conscious control of the hypothalamus and releasing endorphins

    Expensive, but may help

  2. movidax Said,

    Thanks lee18402
    Thanks lee18402

  3. lee18402 Said,

    Dr Eaton developed …
Dr Eaton developed RT between 96-2002 and gives credit to Dr Ernest Rossi for his ideas of the hypothalamus creating symptom states in the body.Bodymind

Dr Mickel was a student of Dr Eaton from 99 until they fell out in 2004

After this Dr Mickel carried on practicing RT under the name Mickel Reverse Therapy a further two years

More recently he has improvised his treatment to work with the energy matrix from Steve Rother, a New Age theorist

MT is based on vibrational medicine/Quantum physics

  4. movidax Said,

    What is the …
What is the difference between the difference this and reverse therapy please?

  5. lee18402 Said,

    Mickel Therapy, …
Mickel Therapy, Reverse Therapy, and Lightning Process all use the ideas of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) that is a technique used to help change negative thoughts and behaviour patterns. It is all deriving from NLP that was created in the 1970s

It is mastering your own psychology and perceptions to deal with a very negative day to day physical condition that is the reality of CFS/ME

  6. lauravitale Said,

    I still have NO …
I still have NO CLUE what Mickel Therpay is. I read all the posts and searched the website for an answer as to what
this therapy entails and did not find a clear explanation
of it. Is it a big secret that you won’t know until you pay
to find out? If so then that seems rather manipulative.

  7. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Thank you for your …
Thank you for your enquiry. MT does not restrict the type of CFS cases it treats. As long as the person has a confirmed diagnosis to exclude other pathologies then he/she should be confident that applying MT will be successful for them. If you have any further questions then please contact us and DR Mickel will answer you himself from a medical perspective.

    Thank you

  8. justbeth222 Said,

    thanx 4 the …
thanx 4 the fantastic video! It certainly makes a lot of sense to me & fits with my own experience (18 yrs with CFS & related conditions) & with a lot of recent theoretical work in neurology & Affect theory. I’m wondering though if you’ve had consistent success with people who have had a long slow complicated onset of their CFS (compounded by other factors), or does it work mainly with people who can identify a fairly sudden change from being healthy to being chronically fatigued & unwell?

  9. mtyrsi77 Said,

    As our requests to …
As our requests to have MT studied against current recommended treatment have been ignored we are having to seek funding ourselves in order to prove the claims that our clients have made. We are hopeful that this will happen sooner rather than later.

  10. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Simple answer is …
Simple answer is that CBT helps a person cope better with being ill. It does not remove symptoms as Mickel Therapy is designed to do. CBT and Mickel Therapy do not even play on the same park as studies will show.

  11. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Mickel Therapy is …
Mickel Therapy is certainly not akin to CBT. Our planned randomised controlled trial will show clear differences in both technique and results.

  12. redrachel76 Said,

    Mikel therapy is …
Mikel therapy is just a rotton way of marketing cognitive behaviour therapy and making money out of other people’s suffering. It’s only existing b/c M.E has had very little biological physical research done on it and has the political reason for the lack of it. Saying that, the doctor is quite a hunk here in his short hairstyle and Scots accent, even if he is a quack and talking rubbish.

  13. stinkydiz Said,

    katatwnic…what it …
katatwnic…what it says is that the nhs need to get there act together to help sufferers and do the needed studies from his therapy so we can all get this on the nhs….

  14. fairyona Said,

    Does CBT work? NHS …
Does CBT work? NHS pays for my GP to tell me CFS is a depressive illness and I’d really like to see a patient testimonial that backs that up.
The way I see it, after being diagnosed 12 years ago, is if a fully qualified doctor who’s also studied psychology can help me work 1 extra week a year, it’s worth it. If he can help me work an extra 1 month a year, it wouldn’t cover what I’ve spent on doctor’s fees, psychologist fees, antidepressants, and all other range of things that haven’t worked.

  15. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Completely …
Completely understandable the whole problem with conditions such as CFS is the confusing signs/symptoms and varying theories.

  16. mtyrsi77 Said,

    It would only still …
It would only still add up if you had a diagnosis of exclsuion so your symptoms if your physician says are created by coxackie then you have coxackie and not CFS. However it is possible for you to have both conditions but only by treating one would you then know which one was causing the symptoms. Dr Mickel has treated many cases like the ones you describe. Your scepticism is understandable however.

  17. dynomoman Said,

I am not trying to …
I am not trying to say your right or wrong here, or trying start to arguement about this. I am interested in whats going on here. I am not a medical expert, but I see alot of facts that don’t add up.

  18. dynomoman Said,

    I still don’t …
I still don’t believe that 2 healthy people can both come down with the same virus Coxackie B)and have the same fatigue and other symptoms attributed to a fault in a gland in the brain. We have a family friend who is also going through the same problems along with his son now. So that’s 4 people all affected by a common virus (Coxackie B, 2 confirmed by tests)and all have fatigue, dizzyness, eye sight problems, tiredness. Your theory of a problemmatic gland now don’t add up does it?

  19. mtyrsi77 Said,

    It does say …
It does say something. Simply that the medical bodies are clutching at straws by using a psychological treatment for a physical set of illnesses. We agree with you which is why we are working so hard to have research done ASAP

  20. mtyrsi77 Said,

    You are clearly …
You are clearly sceptical. This is understandable as our only proof off effectiveness comes from those that have recovered with MT. We are working very hard on research to have this legitimised

  21. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Dr Mickel believes …
Dr Mickel believes that the genetic predisposition is linked to the dvelopment of the cells in the mid-brain. This is explained further in the new youtube video that will be posted shortly. It is a film of Dr Mickel talking to a group recently and will also be on the Mickel Therapy website.

  22. mtyrsi77 Said,

    We have sent you …
We have sent you his details. Best wishes

  23. mtyrsi77 Said,

    Coxackie virus can …
Coxackie virus can be the straw that breaks the camel’s(as can other infections such as EB and influenza) back according to our hypothesis of hypothalamic dysfunction. If this were not the case then you would not be left ith such an array of symptoms.

  24. dynomoman Said,

    Hmm,I thought I saw …
Hmm,I thought I saw something pink fly by me in the shape on an animal :) . The virus has to be the common cause here, 2 people have gone through the same set of symptoms, both have the same out come. Infact Im luckily breaking away from the fatigue now after a few months. Getting good and bad days, more good days now. Partners still got the fatigue, hopefully will follow same path as Im taking and get through this also.

  25. Katatawnic Said,

    dynomoman:

    dynomoman:

According to his site, a genetic predisposition is likely there BUT the illness kicks in after a trauma (injury, infection, etc.). Hence, you and your partner both came down with chronic illness after being exposed to the coxackie B virus AND both have the same genetic predispositions. It could happen, but would be a coincidence. :)

Just as it would be for my mom, aunts, uncle, cousins, and me to ALL be exposed to FM/CFS-causing illnesses in different decades.
